How to export designs as PNG
PNG is the default for social posts and logos that need a transparent background. This page covers when PNG is the right file and how to export it from an AI design editor.
When PNG is the right file
Use PNG for anything with sharp type, flat color, or transparency. Instagram, LinkedIn, and most website headers are happy with PNG. Product cutouts and logo lockups almost always want alpha, which JPEG cannot store.
Use a photo JPEG only when the entire frame is a photograph with no UI chrome. Mixing a photo background with text is still a PNG job so the letters stay crisp after compression.
PNG vs SVG without the mythology
SVG is paths. It scales forever and is ideal for icons and print if you actually have vectors. A generated AI scene is pixels. Exporting that as “SVG” from a random converter usually wraps a bitmap in an SVG envelope — it does not become a true vector.
In Amadezing, one-click PNG export is the honest output for social. If you need SVG-ready artwork, you rebuild clean shapes on the canvas using the raster as a tracing reference. That is an editorial workflow, not a magic binary converter.
Export from the canvas
Export the size you designed. Upscaling a 1080-wide story after the fact will not invent detail. Design 4:5, 9:16, or 16:9 at the resolution you need, then export once.
If you need the subject without the backdrop, remove the background first so the PNG carries alpha. Flattening onto a color is a separate export for a specific post.
- Finish type, images, and motion on the correct canvas size.
- Run background removal if the file must be a cutout.
- Hide any frames or editor chrome that should not ship.
- Use one-click PNG export.
- Spot-check edges on a dark and a light background before you upload.
Keep edges sharp
PNG is lossless for the pixels you give it, but the canvas still has a resolution. Soft AI edges and heavy blur look worse after Instagram’s recompression. Prefer hard type from the text tool over type baked into a generated image.
For logos, export larger than the avatar and let the network downscale. A 200-pixel master will look muddy everywhere.
Social-specific notes
Stories can use PNG even when you add light motion in the editor — you are still shipping a designed frame (or a short loop depending on the publish path), not a camera original.
Name files by size and campaign in the workspace so scheduling does not attach yesterday’s 16:9 thumbnail to a 4:5 slot.
- Transparent logo? PNG. Photograph-only? JPEG is fine. UI plus type? PNG.
- Never screenshot the editor and call it an export.
- Keep the master in the project; derived sizes are copies, not new originals.
Do it with Amadezing
Amadezing treats PNG export as a first-class action on a mobile-first canvas: Instagram, stories, thumbnails, A4/Letter, carousels. Generation with FLUX and background removal happen before that click, not in another tab.
When software needs the file, the design REST API and playground (all plans) render the same kind of PNG with Bearer amz_ keys and credits.
Build it in the Amadezing editor.
