How to design Instagram posts with AI

Instagram still needs the right aspect ratio, readable type, and a clear visual. AI can draft the layout; you keep control of brand colors, copy, and export.

Start with the size Instagram actually shows

Feed posts that fill the screen on a phone are 4:5. Stories and Reels covers are 9:16. A 1:1 square still works but wastes vertical space. If you generate on a random landscape canvas, you will crop faces and clip headlines later.

Carousels are just more slides on the same 4:5 (or 1:1) frame. An editor with unlimited slides lets you storyboard a sequence instead of exporting six disconnected PNGs from six files.

A repeatable AI workflow for Instagram

Write the caption in words first, even a rough one. The graphic should carry one idea: the offer, the quote, the before/after. AI is good at filling the scene; it is bad at deciding what the post is about.

Generate once, then edit. Regenerating ten times to move a word is slower than grabbing the text layer.

  1. Create a 4:5 (or 9:16) canvas in the browser editor.
  2. Remix a template or describe the scene and let FLUX draft the image.
  3. Replace placeholder copy. Keep one headline, one supporting line, and a clear brand mark.
  4. Drop in brand kit colors, fonts, and logos so it matches the rest of the grid.
  5. Add a second slide if it is a carousel — do not squeeze two messages onto one frame.
  6. Export PNG in one click, then publish or schedule to Instagram from the same workspace.

Type that survives the grid

Instagram compresses and shrinks. If the headline is not readable at thumbnail size, it will not be readable in the feed. Use fewer words, higher contrast, and type from your brand kit instead of a new decorative font every post.

Leave a quiet margin around the edges. Safe zones matter more on 9:16, where UI chrome and the swipe-up area eat the bottom of the frame.

Images, cutouts, and motion

You can upload a photo, generate a scene with FLUX, or remove the background so a product sits on your brand color. Cutouts are easier to restack when the caption changes at 6 p.m.

Light motion — a gentle loop on a sticker or a product — helps Stories without turning the file into a video shoot. Keep it subtle; the job is still a readable post.

Mistakes that make AI posts look generic

The tell is the same on every grid: centered serif on a foggy gradient, too many buzzwords, no logo. Fix it with your real palette, a crop that feels photographic, and copy you would say out loud.

Another tell is mixed sizes. If Monday is 4:5 and Wednesday is a 16:9 screenshot, the profile looks accidental. Batch the week in one workspace and duplicate the frame.

  • One idea per slide; extra proof goes on slide two of the carousel.
  • Check the design on a phone before you export.
  • Keep a transparent logo PNG in the brand kit so you are not reconstructing it weekly.

Do it with Amadezing

Amadezing is built for this loop: mobile-first canvas, Instagram 4:5 and stories 9:16, templates, remix, and a full editor. Generate, typeset, export PNG, then schedule to Instagram and the rest of the 10+ networks.

If you already have a mark, drop it into the brand kit so every new post inherits colors and fonts. Credits on Free, Starter, and Pro cover generation; the editor itself is where you finish.

Build it in the Amadezing editor.
